Two-day Introduction to ALS - External Liabilities

Overview

This two-day course is designed for Prophet users who are already experienced in modelling liabilities in Prophet and who wish to start making use of the facilities in Prophet for modelling assets and for making asset/liability projections.

This course is appropriate for people who wish to use Prophet to model assets and the fund within an ALS library product, where interactions with liability results are achieved by dynamically incorporating cash flows created using "external" Prophet liability products.

The course guides delegates through worked examples that introduce them to the main features available. Where appropriate, other more complex features are mentioned, but are not covered in depth.

No prior knowledge of the ALS library is assumed.

Objectives

By the end of this course delegates should be confident about setting up and running ALS library products to perform simple asset/liability modelling studies. They should be familiar with table structures and be equipped with the knowledge to start to tackle more complex investigations.

Pre-requisites

Delegates must:

• Be able to use Prophet Release 7.2 or later effectively.
• Have attended an Introduction course (or have equivalent knowledge) and then have been applying those skills for a minimum of six months in a working environment.
• Be comfortable with the basics of the Windows operating system, including managing files and the concepts of drives and folders.
• Please note that the course will be run using the most current version of Prophet.
