Automating Prophet

Overview

This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to understand how Prophet can be called from another application or that wants to streamline a particular process. It covers several approaches to automating the Prophet runs and also looks at how results can be retrieved as part of this process. It forms a good foundation for anyone wishing to incorporate Prophet / DCS as a calculation engine within their project. Actuarial knowledge is not a requirement for this course.

Objectives

To gain a firm understanding of the parts of the Prophet process that can be automated and how this can be achieved.

By the end of the day, delegates will be able to use various methods to automate the Prophet run process. They will be able to make changes to tables and settings and to run and report on those products from outside the Prophet application.

Delegates will not be required to build their own products or to consider the actuarial aspects of doing so.

Pre-requisites

Delegates must:

• be comfortable with the basics of the Windows operating system, including managing files and the concepts of drives and folders.
• be able to use Excel spreadsheets, including entering formulas.
